Factor Table Counting Song Lyrics

The “Factor Table Counting Song Lyrics” put the steps to complete factor-product tables for factors 0 to 10 into lyrics in a collection of similar songs and rhythm for each factor-product table of multiplication.

Sample of 0x Table Lyrics and Rhythm using notation and terms explained below

7o: Factor A will stay the same,

         ^_^   ^__^     ^__^      ^___

7o: 0 times table with its name.

       ^__^      ^_^     ^__^      ^___

7h: ones place count factor B one time,

          ^___^          ^___^–^-  ^_^     ^__

7h:   0   to  9  above dotted line.

       ^-^-^_ ^_^  ^____^–^-   ^_

7o: product same across each row,

         ^__^        ^__^   ^___^       ^__

7o: ones and tens place both  0.

         ^___^        ^__^         ^__^ ^__

Rhythm notation: in 4/4 time signature @ 60 beats per minute

^_ or ^__^ = ½ beat(s), 1/8th note(s) within same beat

^– or ^–^ = ¼ beat(s), 1/16th note(s) within same beat

Slow down tempo as necessary, especially for reciting numbers and words in fast rhythms. Clapping or metronome keeps beat and helps syllable chunking and blending.

Meter in verse: trochaic tetrameter. This is typically 4 pairs of syllables, 1st part of syllable stressed & 2nd part unstressed or    “4 feet” per verse (line). The 7th syllable or first syllable of the 4th and last pair is usually held a whole beat or missing its 2nd part of the pair.

7o: indicates two voices, octaves apart singing 7 syllables per verse (line)

7h: indicates two voices in harmony singing 7 syllables per verse (line)

Pre-teach before singing song including these:

“tens” also refers to “tens+” (tens & > place) to reduce length.

“count factor one time,” “from 0 to end,” and “count once below” mean count numbers from beginning to end of table without starting over.

“double count cell pairs each two rows, single count last cell, both again” follows “count once below,” which means the double and single counting don’t start number count over because they “count once below.” Each two rows double count the same number in consecutive cells as “pairs” and single count the remaining last cell of the two rows. They count in “both” double and single count order for each two rows and repeat “both again” by counting another two rows.

“starting cells twice from 0 to end, 2, 4, 6, 8, count again” means number counting starts over where indicated (0).

vocabulary: math content words like “factor, time(s), product, tens and ones place, even, row, line, table, single, double, twice, pair, all, same, again, repeat, count, increase, first, start, next, cell, last, number spelling of at least one, two, three, four and five,” locations (above, below, top, bottom, left, middle, right, end, zigzag) and “sight words.” Distinguish different definitions and homonyms: pear, sell, won, too, write.
